Is it no longer a game?

How many people gamble?

According to a 2003 Washington State Needs Assessment Household survey, 54% of adults gambled during the previous year. Most of those adults were able to gamble responsibly, which means they could set lost limits ahead of time and stick with them. For more on gambling types, see our Types of Gamblers section.

How many are problem gamblers?

According to the 2004 Washington State Council on Problem Gambling DASA Pilot Study, approximately 7.2% of Washington gamblers reported having one or more signs of problem gambling.
